The Abyss is a not-for-profit international organization. Our goals in this representation is; to provide information and resources about Kult to ensure its continued publication, help the game achieve more popularity and a larger audience, maintain the original concepts of the creators, Gunilla Jonsson & Michael Petersén, and to keep the Kult community interested between the 7th Circle Releases.

The Abyss does not intend to infringe on the intellectual copyright of Kult or any other company or organization. The works of The Abyss are a purely fictional creation for the roleplaying game, Kult, and The Abyss does not condone nor encourage the acts depicted. All work is considered to be for mature readers only.

The Abyss began in 1999 prompted by Matthew Boroson and others as a unifying site to promote Kult in an effort to see the game back into print. Maps of Hell and Gaia became The Abyss' first pdf sourcebooks.

Jason Just took guidance of The Abyss after these books and redesigned The Abyss website. The Abyss' Journal, Cenotaphium took shape in this period and the first volume was completed.

June of 2000, Just stepped apart from the site as The Abyss entered dormancy. With the site coming up for renewal and The Abyss staff already discussing its future, Paradox Plaza publicly announced the licensing of Kult to 7th Circle Publishing, Amthor passed control back to Just to continue The Abyss into its third version.

The Abyss exists as a collective, and is the result of submitted content and divers hands contributing.
